Zusammenfassung

Der Wechsel einer Knieendoprothese bringt eine Vielzahl von Problemen mit sich. So sind von Fall zu Fall das Primärimplantat, die Integrität der Weichteile und das vorhandene Knochenlager unterschiedlich (Suarez et al. 2008). Um Fehler, die zum Scheitern des Primärimplantates geführt haben zu vermeiden, müssen die hierfür verantwortlichen Ursachen eruiert werden. Grundvoraussetzung für alle Patienten mit gelockerten Primärimplantaten ist das Überprüfen des Vorliegens einer Gelenkinfektion (BSG, CRP, Knochenszintigraphie, Funktion des Gelenks). Eine nicht schmerzhafte, schleichend verlaufende Entzündung manifestiert sich häufig nur in Form einer Implantatlockerung. Einen nicht unwesentlichen Einfluss auf das Ergebnis einer Revisionsoperation hat das Design des Primärimplantats.
