Abstract
We consider an association rule to be an interesting pair of Boolean attributes. These Boolean attributes are derived from columns of an analysed data matrix. An example of such a data matrix with general values is given in Sect. 2.1. However, we are interested only in a simple form of data matrices. This means that we consider data matrices with positive integer numbers as their only values, see Sect. 2.2. Association rules were defined in [1] as a tool of analysing market baskets data. This is the reason why the market basket data is introduced in Sect. 2.3. In addition, it is shown that market basket data can also be simply considered as a data matrix.
