Zusammenfassung

Grundlage der Magnetresonanztomographie (MRT) ist die resonante Anregung der Eigendrehimpulszustände (des sog. Spins) von Atomkernen durch hochfrequente elektromagnetische Felder. Um die Kernspins anzuregen, werden sie in in ein starkes homogenes Magnetfeld (B 0) gebracht; hierzu werden meist supraleitende Magnete eingesetzt (in ◘ Abb. 1.1 grau dargestellt).
