Abstract
This section presents a set of the most easily accessible localities that cover the most signifi cant aspects of the geology of the Vredefort Dome, together with some of its archaeological and cultural heritage. Several sites essentially duplicate one another, but are listed here as they may include specifi c features that have contributed to the development of ideas about the Vredefort Dome and the rocks it exposes, or because they may provide alternatives for route planning for self-guided tours.
