Zusammenfassung
Seit den 80er Jahren werden Lungentransplantationen (LTx) durchgeführt mit nachfolgend exponentieller Zunahme. Ende der 90er Jahre tritt wegen Spenderorganmangels eine Abflachung ein. Im Jahr 2000 wurden weltweit 1500, in Deutschland 150 Lungentransplantationen (LTx) jährlich und 11 Herz-Lungen-Transplantationen durchgeführt. 25% der gelisteten Patienten starben während der Wartezeit auf ein Spenderorgan. Heute finden weltweit etwa 2000 LTx pro Jahr statt, in Deutschland 250.
