Zusammenfassung
Der Engländer Christopher Wren (1632–1723) gilt als Erfinder der intravenösen Injektion. Im deutschen Sprachraum werden erste Injektionen Johann Sigismund Elsholz (1623–1688) zugeschrieben, der durch eine Klistierspritze über eine Venae sectio destilliertes Wegerichwasser injizierte. Die intravenöse Behandlung der Lues wird 1666 von Johannes Schmiedt, genannt Fabritius (1623–1690) in Danzig beschrieben. 1682 beschreibt D. Zollikofer (St. Gallen in der Schweiz) das Einspritzen einer Säure in die Vene zur Erzeugung eines Thrombus.
