Zusammenfassung

Eine inadäquate Tumorresektion führt zu hohen Lokalrezidivraten von 60–90%. Die weite lokale Tumorresektion kann die Lokalrezidivraten deutlich reduzieren. Eine Reihe von Studien konnte zeigen, dass sich die Lokalrezidivraten mit adäquater Chirurgie auf unter 10% (0–28%) reduzieren lassen. Für Extremitätentumoren wird das Ziel einer lokalen Tumorkontrolle allerdings mit einer mehr oder weniger ausgeprägten Funktionseinbuße erkauft (Shieber u. Graham 1962, Collins et al. 1986).
