Abstract

In this chapter the basic status of China marginal seas, including the Bohai Sea, the Yellow Sea, the East China Sea, and the South China Sea, and the research progress into marine biogeochemistry in China are described. China marginal seas are typically an ideal area to study marine biogeochemical processes and the progress is significant, especially in biogenic elements such as carbon, nitrogen, phosphorous, and silica.
