Abstract

The chance of a patient to obtain fully matched unrelated stem cells donors is dependent on possibility of effective search and analysis of databases of more than 13 million donors in stem cells donors registries. Transplantation outcome is crucially dependent on HLA match between donor and recipient. But search coordinator must deal with uncompleted HLA typing results of donors, limited time and budget for complementary HLA testing.

The goal of HLA haplotype frequency tool HLA Explorer (www.hlaexplorer.net) is to help physicians (transplant centers) and coordinators (stem cells donor registries) to examine Linkage Disequilibrium of HLA system in order to assist to find suitable unrelated stem cells donor.
