Zusammenfassung

Bei Lobär- oder Segmentpneumonien wird durch reichlich fibrinöses Exsudat die Luft weitgehend aus der Lunge verdrängt. Befallene Lappen oder Segmente sind luftarm und gehen im Wasser unter. In der Anschoppungsphase und während der Hepatisation, also etwa in der 1. Woche der Erkrankung, bestehen gute Bedingungen für eine pathologische Schalltransmission. In dieser Phase ist die Pneumonie sonographisch gut darstellbar. In der Lysephase wird der entzündete Lungenabschnitt wieder zunehmend belüftet. Luftreflexe überlagern tiefer liegende Infiltrationen: Das sonographische Bild kann jetzt das Ausmaß der Erkrankung unterschätzen.
