The clinical history taken by surgeons is often not as “deep” as the one performed by internists. However, I advocate for being as exhaustive as they are, although it is reasonable to orient the conversation to our area of interest. Top surgeons have often been defi ned as “physicians with the ability to operate, but first of all, physicians.”
