Zusammenfassung

Osteoporotische Wirbelfrakturen sind die Hauptursache von Gebrechen und erhöhter Sterblichkeit des alten Menschen. Die Folgen derartiger Frakturen beinhalten Schmerzen und in vielen Fällen einen fortschreitenden Kollaps angrenzender Wirbelkörper aufgrund sekundärer Kyphose. Sie beeinträchtigen erheblich die Lebensqualität, die Funktion, den geistigen Zustand und auch das Überleben.
