Zusammenfassung
Am 5. Juni 2008 defi nierte der Leiter des Deutschen Forschungszentrums für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) Professor Wolfgang Wahlster auf dem 3. Dresdner Zukunft sforum die Zukunft sversion des Internets mit den Worten: »Das Web 3.0 ist das Web 2.0 plus semantische Technologien«. Dies ist zwar eine sehr vereinfachte Darstellung, aber gerade deshalb sehr hilfreich. Eine scharfe Trennung zwischen Web 2.0 und Web 3.0 ist genauso wenig möglich wie zwischen Web 1.0 und Web 2.0. Wie bereits beschrieben, bilden Web 2.0 und Web 3.0 keine ersetzenden Alternativen zum Web 1.0, sondern nur Ergänzungen zum Kernangebot und zu den Möglichkeiten des World Wide Web, wie es sich seit 1993 darstellt. Die Versionsnummern helfen zudem, deutlich zu machen, über welchen Technologiestatus bzw. über welche Möglichkeiten diskutiert wird.
