Abstract

After having optimized a code at a core-level (Chapter 5) and at a node-level (Chapter 6), the user may want to parallelize his application at a cluster level, the purpose of this chapter. The authors are aware that parallelizing a sequential application can lead to a high number of problems, and even to sometimes wrong results if a race condition is introduced. Parallelization can be mandatory if a single nodes does not offer enough main memory or if its performance is insufficient.

Don’t blame the messenger because the message is unpleasant.”
