Abstract
Once the code optimization is done at a single core–level (chapter 5), the adaptation to a multi-core architectures can be addressed. Different shared memory machines (SMP) and non uniform memory access (NUMA) architectures are presented. Vector architectures are briefly discussed to show how memory access bounded applications can benefit from such machines. Examples in CFD and plasma physics are presented.
L’avenir n’est pas une amélioration du présent. C’est autre chose.
