Towards the Social Semantic Web
We have described work in this book leading to the creation of a Social Semantic Web, where all of the different collaborative systems, like blogs and wikis, are connected together through the addition of semantics, allowing people to traverse across these different types of systems, reusing and porting their data between systems as required. We shall now outline some of the possibilities enabled by a Social Semantic Web, along with some ideas for what needs to be done to sustain and promote its adoption. We shall describe requirements for privacy and occasional fragmentation of a user’s aggregated semantic content, and finish with a summary of our vision for the Social Semantic Web.
