Zusammenfassung
Die Amnionflüssigkeit wird durch fetalen Urin aufrechter-halten. Die Produktion von Harn beginnt in etwa um die 16. Schwangerschaftswoche, die Lungenentwicklung beginnt mit der Woche 16–28. Ohne Amnionflüssigkeit kann sich der Bronchialbaum nicht entwickeln, und eine Lungenhypoplasie resultiert. Kinder mit Lungenhypoplasie bedingt durch ein An- oder Oligohydramnion sterben gewöhnlich bei der Geburt aufgrund eines respiratorischen Versagens [1].
