Zusammenfassung
Von den endoskopischen Techniken des Harntrakts stellt die Ureterorenoskopie die jüngste Innovation dar. Erst im Jahr 1980 wurde von E. Perez-Castro in Zusammenarbeit mit der Firma Karl Storz das erste starre Ureterorenoskop konzipiert. Es wies eine Länge von 50 cm bei einem Durchmesser von 12 Charr auf und hatte einen Arbeitskanal. Hiermit führte Perez-Castro neben der Endoskopie von Ureter und Nierenbecken die ersten endoskopischen Operationen des oberen Harntrakts an Tumoren, Steinen und Stenosen durch. H. Reuterwares, der im Jahr 1982 die elektrohydraulische Steindesintegrationstechnik erstmals zusammen mit der Ureterorenoskopie einsetzte. Dazu war von ihm, ebenfalls in Zusammenarbeit mit der Firma Karl Storz, ein Kompaktendoskop von 9,5 Charr Durchmesser und einem ovalären Operationskanal entwickelt worden.
