Zusammenfassung
Harnstoff entsteht beim Abbau von Proteinen und Aminosäuren und wird daher bei kataboler Stoffwechsellage (Proteinabbau) in der Leber gebildet. Harnstoff wird überwiegend renal eliminiert. Neben dem metabolischen Status wird die Harnstoffkonzentration im Serum daher maßgeblich durch die Nierenfunktion beeinflusst [29].
