Zusammenfassung

Die Untersuchung des Ejakulates dient zur Beurteilung von männlichen Fertilitätsstörungen. Die Qualität der Ejakulatanalyse hängt davon ab, wie und wo das Ejakulat gewonnen wird und welche analytischen Methoden angewendet werden. Da es sowohl biologische wie analytische Gründe für Schwankungen in der Qualität des Ejakulates gibt, ist eine Standardisierung der Rahmenbedingungen für die Gewinnung des Ejakulates und der Labormethoden dringend erforderlich, um die Ergebnisse verschiedener Laboratorien vergleichen zu können. Eine Mindestzahl von Spermien muss analysiert werden, um annehmbare Werte für die Gesamtzahl der Spermien pro Ejakulat und die Prozente motiler, vitaler und morphologisch normaler Spermien zu erhalten. In diesem Kapitel wird die praktische Durchführung der Ejakulatanalyse vermittelt, wobei besonderer Wert auf die Beurteilung der Motilität und die Morphologie der Spermien gelegt wird.
