The Grand-Duke’s Decree of 18 January 2005 transposed the WEEE and RoHS Directives into Luxembourg law, coming into force in April 2004. The producer obligation to take back WEEE was postponed from 13 August 2005 to 1 April 2006 by an amendment to the regulation in December 2005.
Note: Underlined sections are not in line with the WEEE Directive and/or the FAQ Document of the European Commission (http://ec.europa.eu/environment/waste/pdf/faq_weee.pdf). However, this does not mean that the national law violates European law. The discrepancies are part of the range of applications given to the national authorities by the WEEE Directive.
