Abstract

Pontoon gate is a kind of landscape and new ecotype hydrostructure. It can solve the contravention between flood prevention and shipping effect. During the pulling process, pontoon gate is not only stressed by flow resistance, but by inertia force. In this paper, the resistance constitutes and the similarity rules of resistance model test have been analyzed. Based on engineering safety and diminishing error, it was indicated that the gate resistance model should be designed according to gravity similarity, model flow must be kept in turbulence state, and kept similar of distribution between model and prototype to guarantee similar of inertia resistance. Combining practical hydraulic project model test, the resistance was measured during opening gate and closing it. The relationship between resistance per unit discharge and rotation angle has been given. The resistance characteristic graph and influence factors were analyzed and also research the method to determine the dynamic volume of the pontoon gate cabin.
