Abstract

Approximately one-fifth of the world uranium reserves are found in Kazakhstan. Deposits are divided among six uranium ore provinces according to geological positions, generic features and territorial location. Characteristics of uranium mineralization of deposits are given. In-situ leaching (ISL) technology of uranium recovery from low-grade ore of sand-stone deposits is given and based on selective dissolving of uranium bearing minerals.
