Abstract

Articular lesions may also be associated with soft tissue lesions. Secondary amyloidosis complicates many chronic diseases, including chronic renal failure. Amyloid may be responsible for small carpal and phalangeal cysts. Calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate deposition disease is associated with certain metabolic disorders and affects the wrist and second and third metacarpophalangeal joints. Arterial calcification is a feature of renal osteodystrophy.
