Abstract

Breast enlargement is one of the manifestations for male gender change. The psychological readiness for such a change must be evaluated before augmenting the breast in a male. The procedure is described in detail and has been very successful. The possible risks and complications are similar to those for breast augmentation in a female. There are times when the male wishes, for a variety of reasons, to have the implants removed; in such a case, the chest wall will ordinarily revert back to the previous flattened breast without skin excess.
