As the biggest developing country and the only Communist member of the WTO, China’s role in the global trading system is unique. Having laid out the theoretical ground for exploring feasibility of reconciling the IPR international standards and the specific conditions of particular states, this chapter will expand on insight into China’s experience with the WTO and the TRIPs Agreement, and the IPR enforcement problems that have been undermining China’s credibility and threatening the relations with its Western trading partners.
