Abstract
Phase Space Method - ushers in an analytical technique for treating blast waves propagating into atmospheres of finite pressure and density. The Phase Space Method (PSM) is based on the autonomous form of the blast wave equations in Eulerian space coordinates presented in Chapter 10. The solution of these equations is obtained by determining a family of integral curves forming a surface in the phase space of blast wave coordinates, rather than directly in the physical space, as is conventionally done by numerical algorithms.
