Abstract
Visual sensors are going to play an important role in driver assistance systems. The authors present examples for the application of visual sensors. They present an overall architecture for a general technological platform and individually selected aspects. Special emphasis is attached to systematic testing and evaluating. They present a test procedure with virtually generated driving scenes.
