Abstract
Experiences at the solar energy project of Massachusetts Institute of Technology with MIT Solar House IV during the two years period from September 1960 and the significant roles paid by this project for the later period of solar energy research are described. As one of the pioneers of solar house, Solar House IV included many innovative design details, mechanical systems and all sorts of technologies then available. The extensive measurements under the occupied conditions were made to estimate quantitative performance data.
