Abstract
A number of buzzwords, such as “pervasive computing”, “disappearing computers”, “ubiquitous computing”, “reactive environments” and even “active museums” are related to the same concept, ambient intelligence. According to the ISTAG vision statement, an environment with ambient intelligence (AmI) contains intelligent interfaces that are supported by computing and networking technology embedded in everyday objects such as furniture, clothes, vehicles, roads and smart materials; even particles of decorative substances like paint.
