Mixed ℋ2/ℋ∞ Control Problem

In the previous chapters we covered separately the ℋ2 and the ℋ∞ control problems. The guaranteed cost control has also been treated. In this chapter, we will combine the ℋ2 and ℋ∞ techniques to get what it is known in the literature as the mixed ℋ2/ℋ∞ control problem. This approach consists of determining a controller that makes the closed-loop state equation of the class of system we are considering piecewise regular, impulse-free and stochastically stable and at the same time guarantees the disturbance rejection with a certain given level γ > 0 and assures a guaranteed cost.
