In Chap. 14 we reviewed the classical (linear) theory of “ordinary” C2 cubic splines. Having discussed how individual PH curve segments are constructed, we are now ready to address the more challenging problem of constructing C2 PH quintic spline curves. Our focus at present is on planar PH splines, and we use the complex representation (Chap. 19) to facilitate their computation.
