Fibrohistiozytäre Tumoren

Zusammenfassung

Die Bezeichnung „fibrohistiozytär“ basiert auf der seinerzeitigen Annahme einer fibroblastären bzw. histiozytären Differenzierung der spindeligen bis rundlichen Tumorzellen. Gestützt wurde diese Theorie durch das oftmalige Auftreten von untermischten Entzündungszellen, Makrophagen und Riesenzellen vom Osteoklastentyp. Durch den Einsatz neuerer Untersuchungsmethoden (Elektronenmikroskopie, Immunhistochemie) hat sich jedoch herausgestellt, dass in keinen der so genannten fibrohistiozytären Tumoren eine echte histiozytische Zelldifferenzierung vorliegt. [24] Der bis heute beibehaltene Terminus „fibrohistiozytär“ umfasst daher nicht Tumoren mit gemeinsamer linienspezifischer Differenzierung, sondern eine Gruppe ätiologisch und biologisch heterogener Läsionen mit histologischen Ähnlichkeiten.
