Zusammenfassung
Es handelt sich um Frakturen im Bereich des distalen Anteils des Oberschenkelknochens, die zumeist durch eine erhebliche Krafteinwirkung, z. B. infolge von Hochenergietraumata (Verkehrsunfall, Sturz aus großer Höhe) entstehen. Dies trifft v. a. auf jüngere und insbesondere männliche Patienten zu; 1/3 dieser Patienten sind mehrfach verletzt [1].
