Abstract

Real-life objects are normally influenced by random fluctuations, or noise, of various origins. Noise can originate from the random motion of molecules and atoms inside and outside the object, from fluctuations of external parameters like humidity, temperature, illumination, concentration of chemical elements, etc., influencing the values of the physical parameters of the system. The question naturally arises if the addition of a random input to the system will influence its response to external periodic perturbation and generally the phenomenon of synchronization. In Chap. 7 we answer the above question.
