Abstract

The session was structured into fours parts:

    Two presentations, which addressed the use of empirical validation in software engineering.

  2. 1

    Two presentations about exploratory versus confirmatory experiments.

  3. 1

    A working session, which addressed questions that arose from the presentations and which involved splitting into three working groups to address different issues followed by a plenary feedback session.

  4. 1

    A wrap-up by Mike Mahoney from a historian’s perspective.
