Vasoproliferative Tumoren der Netzhaut können in der klinischen Praxis sowohl bei Diagnose und Differentialdiagnose als auch in der Behandlungsempfehlung Probleme hervorrufen. Diese zwar insgesamt seltenen, jedoch regelmäßig in spezialisierten Zentren zu beobachtenden benignen Tumoren werden oft mit malignen Entitäten (z. B. Aderhaut- und Netzhautmetastasen oder Aderhautmelanom) verwechselt; einheitliche Behandlungsempfehlungen existieren nicht [5]. Bisher publizierte Therapiestrategien reichen von reiner Verlaufsbeobachtung über Laser- oder Kryopexie und intravitrealen Anti-VEGF Injektionen bis zur Vitrektomie mit Endoresektion oder Strahlentherapie durch Ruthenium-Applikatoren [1, 58, 12].
