Abstract
We discuss the structure of one of the closest protostellar objects, located in the R Coronae Australis cloud core, in the light of recent radio, infrared and optical observations. The deeply embedded infrared object 1RS 7 [Av ≥ 35m), or its possibly undetected companion, is giving rise to a powerful outflow associated with HH-objects and strong thermal SiO emission. A large molecular disk or torus surrounds the central source(s) of the outflow. The object may represent a very early stage of evolution where outflow is accompanied by substantial accretion from the surrounding cloud. Possible indications of this process in the existing data are discussed.
