Abstract
Guided by the company’s „Kyosei“ philosophy, i.e. living and working together for the common good, Canon has been in operation since its foundation in 1937. In 1997 the company celebrated its 60th anniversary employing more than 75’000 people worldwide.
Author is Dr. Yasuo Kozato, Manager, Global Research Promotion Project at Research and Development Headquarters, Canon Inc. This case study was written in 1998: The reader should keep in mind that all numbers, figures, organization charts and forecasts represent the state of 1998 or before.
