Auszug

Psychopharmaka spielen bei der Behandlung psychischer Krankheiten von Kindern und, Jugendlichen eine große Rolle. Bere its in den Anfängen der wissenschaftlichen Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie im 19. Jahrhundert wurde psychotropen Substanzen in der Therapie viel Beachtung geschenkt. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg war die deutsche Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie sehr stark pädagogisch und psychotherapeutisch geprägt, sodass biologische Aspekte lange Zeit nicht genügend Beachtung gefunden haben. Dies hat sich in den letzten Jahren grundlegend gewandelt. Nicht zuletzt durch die zunehmende Wichtigkeit der Evidenzbasierung der Therapie haben die Psychopharmaka erheblich an Bedeutung gewonnen.
