Application of Squeezed-State Light to Laser Stabilization

Part of the book series: Springer Series in Optical Sciences ((SSOS,volume 55))

Abstract

Squeezed-state light having now been generated in several laboratories [1], a variety of exciting applications can be pursued. Improving the phase sensitivity of an interferometer [2], recently demonstrated [3], requires only squeezed vacuum (no mean field). In contrast, exploring the full range of issues in atomic spectroscopy requires squeezed light with a coherent excitation.
