Abstract

Modern physical studies are becoming more focused on the demands of practice. This means that a modern research project is a race for reaching a practical goal rather than a surfing over the ocean of knowledge. Another stimulus for pursuing practical goals is the grant-oriented system of funding; it is almost impossible nowadays to get funding for a research project driven by a curiosity. As a result, the concept of the goal is becoming more significant in physics.
