Abstract

In this paper, the non linear tensile behaviour of fibre reinforced concrete is analyzed. In order to determine the possible failure micromechanisms and the tensile strength of the material, a non linear analysis is developed. Specifically, the possible slippage between fibre and matrix and the different concrete behaviour, under tensile and compressive load, are considered. Finally, by using the finite element method, numerical results are obtained for several fibre volume fractions and comparisons with analytical results are carried out.
