Application of cell functions for the calculation of binary composite elastic moduli

Abstract

This section is divided into two parts. Analytical calculation of the basic cell functions and, hence, of the effective moduli tensor for a laminated composite of periodic structure is given in the first part. The results of the numerical solution of basic cell problems for particulate-filled composites are represented and discussed in the second subsection. The results under discussion concern a classic homogenization problem for a binary composite, which consists of two isotropic perfectly bonded components, as well as the case of a non-perfect interfacial interaction and elastoplastic matrix.
