Abstract
This chapter is the final chapter in Part II of the book. It is also the basis for Chapter 9, as shown in the shaded area of Fig. 8.1. This chapter will examine multiagent e-commerce. Then it examines multiagent-based negotiation. Further it classifies multiagent-based negotiation into multiagent-based auction, multiagent-based mediation, and multiagent-based brokerage, and gives a brief survey of related works in each. Then it investigates multiagent brokerage and argues that bargaining and compromise play an important role in brokerage. Finally, this chapter proposes an architecture of a multiagent-based intelligent broker for the bargaining process.
