d’idéaux premiers de A, telle que PiPi+1 pour 0 ⩽ i ⩽ r−1. L’entier r s’appelle la longueur de la chaîne; l’idéal Po (resp. Pr) s’appelle son origine (resp. son extrémité); on dit parfois que la chaîne (1) joint Po à Pr.
