Pulsed and cw Optically Pumped Lasers for Novel Applications in Spectroscopy and Kinetics

  • Conference paper

Part of the book series: Springer Series in Optical Sciences ((SSOS,volume 7))

Abstract

There is a recent explosion of interest in optically pumped gas phase, electronic transition, diatomic lasers. Over the past year, the number of experiments performed on such lasers has increased tremendously. Table 1 is a brief historical outline of the development of diatomic molecular lasers. Both pulsed and cw optical pumped lasers have been demonstrated.
