Abstract
Overall, individual reports confirm that 50% of all patients in the emergency department present with emotional disorders or comorbidities (Klussmann 1999; Byrne et al. 2003). Purely emotional disorders with a predominant psychiatric disorder are present in 10–15% of the patients (Bolk and Wegener 1984).
