Bedeutsamste Gruppe der Magen-Darm-Mittel sind unverändert die Protonen-pumpenhemmer zur Behandlung der Refluxkrankheit und zur Prophylaxe und Therapie der Magen-Duodenalulzera. Nach wie vor zweitgrößte Gruppe, aber in deutlichem Abstand der Verordnungen, sind die H2-Rezeptorenblocker. Gering zugenommen hat die Verordnung von motilitätssteigernden Mitteln und Medikamenten gegen chronisch-entzündliche Darmkrankheiten. Kleinere Verordnungsvolumen entfallen auf Laxantien, auf Antidiarrhoika und Pankreasenzyme.
