Abstract
This paper describes the implementation of a knowledge management tool to capture and reuse the lessons learned from the installation of engineering equipment. It has been developed as an adjunct to an existing system that uses case-based reasoning to reuse previous engineering installation specifications and designs. The system described lets engineers recall details of installation, commissioning and operational problems with systems. The paper discusses how lessons learned support the reuse and revision processes of the traditional CBR cycle.
